A chapter in the collection Uses of a Whirlwind: Movement, Movements, and Contemporary Radical Currents in the United States, edited by Team Colors Collective, AK Press, June 2010
After working with anti-racist activists and police/prison abolitionists in Portland for a few years, Kevin Van Meter invited me to contribute a chapter about art and activism to a collection of essays about organizing in the first decade of the 21st century. The essay includes my interviews with Mike Bonanno of the Yes Men; Steve Kurtz of Critical Art Ensemble; Paige Sarlin of 16 Beaver Group; Rosten Woo, former Executive Director of the Center for Urban Pedagogy; Natalie Jeremijenko, and Dara Greenwald. The book was released at the United States Social Forum in Detroit in June 2010.
