BIG FILM & Collaboration with the Earth, documentation by Corinna ScottBIG FILM, documentation by Corinna ScottJulie Perini with BIG FILM & Collaboration with the Earth, documentation by Corinna ScottFor this installation at the artist-run Place Gallery, I wanted to share my film Collaboration with the Earth in two ways: as a looped projected video and as a physical sculptural installation that visitors could walk through. To make the installation, which I called BIG FILM, I selected frames from Collaboration with the Earth, increased their size, printed them on transparency film and then sandwiched them into custom 8” x 10” plexiglass. I then fastened the plexiglass pieces to one another, creating 8’ ladders of film. During the run of the show, I also taught a workshop called “Creation is Destruction: A Workshop on Film Decay.”
