Collaboration with a Stream (no titles) Collaboration with a Stream still image
This cameraless film is the result of a collaboration between myself and a stream in Woodstock, NY at the Byrdcliffe Artists Residency. Using an exacto knife in my studio, I scratched a single long line into black film leader. Leader is black film that projectionists typically put at the beginning and end of a film so something goes through the projector before the actual film print. I then left this long strip of film in a stream for a week. The dirt, rocks, and water in the stream eroded and chipped off bits of the black, creating flecks and chunks of white, as well as the soundtrack.
